Air Handling Units

An air handling unit (also known as an AHU) is a equipment used in a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system to regulate and circulate air. A blower, heating or cooling elements, filter racks or chambers, sound attenuators, and dampers are typically found in an air handling unit.

 the air handling unit may need to supply cooling, heating, or both to modify the supply air temperature and humidity level. Air handling units often feature capabilities to allow the entry of outside air into the building, as well as the exhausting of air from the building, in order to maintain interior air quality.

They are frequently supplemented by return air duct fans that force air into the AHU.
